The body of a murdered British businessman who went missing in Kenya has been found stuffed into a sack by a cattle herder. Campbell Scott, 58, arrived in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi for a business trip on February 15, and was reported missing a day later. Local sources report he was last seen following an unidentified man out of a nightclub.

His body was later found bound with rope and stuffed into a sack in a forest around 60 miles outside of Nairobi, the BBC reports. Police have arrested two suspects – waiter and a taxi – who are believed to have been some of the last people to see him alive.

Mr Scott, from credit scoring firm Fico based in Dunfermline, Fife, had been attending a conference at the JW Marriott Hotel in Nairobi and was due to meet colleagues to discuss a presentation. But when he failed to appear at the meeting on February 16, colleagues became concerned and contacted the local police, who later launched a joint investigation into his disappearance alongside Interpol.

A body was eventually discovered inside a sack by a cattle herder on Saturday, which was later confirmed to be Mr Scott. Mr Scott attended school in Dunfermline and worked for a number of companies before joining Fico. Confirming his death, a company spokeswoman said on Monday that staff were ‘devastated’ by the news.

She added: ‘Campbell was a leader in our international Scores business. ‘He joined Fico in 2014 and was instrumental in introducing Scores to new markets and growing our business with existing partnerships. We mourn his passing and will miss his humour and kindness.

‘Our thoughts are with Campbell’s family and friends. We ask that the media respect their privacy.’. A UK Foreign Office spokesperson said: ‘We are supporting the family of a British man who has died in Kenya and are in contact with the local authorities.’.
