The popular Culpables trilogy has taken a new turn, transforming into a British forbidden love story with its first film, My Fault: London, set in the UK capital. With its release during Valentine’s Day weekend, fans have been captivated by the plot, with many even claiming it to be "better than the original.". Based on the first book of the best-selling Culpables trilogy by Spanish author Mercedes Ron, the series includes Culpa Mía, Culpa Tuya, and Culpa Nuestra. While the first two films of the Spanish adaptation have already been released, with the third and final instalment expected later this year, the success of the franchise has led to the creation of a British adaptation.
Compared to Fifty Shades of Grey, After We Collided, and Through My Window, Culpa Mía has become a global phenomenon. The British remake, My Fault: London, stars Asha Banks and Matthew Broome, following the forbidden romance between 18-year-old Noah and her new stepbrother, Nick, after she moves from the US to the UK. Forced to start over and navigate a long-distance relationship, she has to adjust to her new life in London with her newlywed mother. Struggling to settle in, she finds herself falling for Nick, despite their complicated family ties, while also dealing with a traumatic past involving her father.
The film remains identical to its original film, keeping the same characters and storyline, along with the intense, toxic forbidden romance. Many viewers shared their thoughts on X, describing My Fault: London being more enjoyable and "less cringe." They praised the steamy chemistry between Noah and Nick and noting that the British adaptation stays true to the book’s storyline.
