Sources earlier told Arizona’s Family that the incident killed at least one person and that two people were rushed to a hospital and at least one was treated on the runway. ‘We do not know how many people were on board. CCTV footage from the airport showed a plane on the tarmac with several fire engines and ambulances surrounding it. The crash happened around 2.45pm. Flights at the airport were temporarily halted. Scottsdale Mayor Lisa Borowsky announced that the airport was closed. ‘Today, Scottsdale sadly experienced an aircraft accident at our airport,’ stated Borowsky. ‘On behalf of the city of Scottsdale, we offer our deepest condolences to those involved in the accident and for those who have been taken to our trauma center for treatment. We will keep all affected by this tragedy in our prayers.’.

It occurred as multiple collisions and incidents in aviation in the US have many travelers worried about flying safety. Just two days earlier, a Japan Airlines plane hit a parked Delta Air Lines jet while taxiing at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. The wing of the Japan Airlines plane that had just touched down from Tokyo struck the tail of the Delta jet which was set to depart for Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. No one was injured in the incident.

And on January 29, a collision between an American Airlines regional jet and a Black Hawk helicopter killed all 67 people aboard both aircrafts and was the worst aviation disaster in the US since 2001.
