A second contestant from The Traitors has now revealed they also 'faked' where they were from while appearing on the BBC show. During this year's series, which dramatically concluded last Friday, Charlotte Berman came under fire for 'pointlessly' adopting a Welsh accent in a bid to become more trustworthy.
Charlotte - a Faithful later recruited as a Traitor - quickly formed friendships throughout the season and even made it to the final, despite hiding her North London tones. However, though viewers were quick to brand the accent a 'pointless' tactic, it appears she's not the only one to have slightly twisted the truth about where they're from.
Fan-favourite Minah, who impressed viewers across the nation with her stunning performance as an original Traitor, has now revealed she's not actually from Liverpool, as stated in the programme. Speaking on the BBC Newsbeat Podcast, the 29-year-old call centre manager said: 'You don't even know the half of it! This is about to be an exclusive.
'I didn't go to school in Liverpool. I say I'm from Liverpool because my friends say I'm an adopted Scouser but I'm not actually from Liverpool!'. Newsbeat host Eleanor Doyle couldn't believe what she was hearing, responding: 'No way!'.
