The Traitors star Charlotte Berman based her fake accent on season one contestant Amanda Lovett. Fans of the hit BBC reality show have watched on in awe as 32-year-old business director Charlotte has bluffed her way through the entire third season pretending to be Welsh. The contestants appeared on the show with her warm voice - but revealed in her first confessional that she was faking it and her natural accent is much more home-counties.

The hopeful explained that she wanted the other contestants to warm to her and she picked a Welsh accent to sound more approachable and kind. She also revealed that she feared fellow contestant Elen Wyn, who was from Cardiff, would rumble her fake accent - but she was banished in the second episode.

Now Charlotte stands to win the series as the final remaining traitor after she was recruited to turn on the Faithfuls earlier in the season. The finale airs tonight and now season one star Amanda, 54, who was a traitor in the debut run of episodes, has revealed she has connected with the season three star since filming wrapped last year.

Appearing on the Celebrity Skin Talk Podcast Amanda revealed: "She's playing it very well, and she voice noted me saying I inspired her to have her fake welsh accent, which was very sweet. She's doing a great job doing it till the end.". Charlotte, meanwhile, has hinted she regretted faking an accent over the weeks it took to film the show. She said: "I have learned that if I ever do another TV show, I probably, most definitely, won't do it with a fake Welsh accent. It has been exhausting, and I think I may have permanently rewired my brain. But perhaps it has paid off after all?!".
