The Traitors fans were delighted by the new contestants of the BBC programme as they claimed 'real television is back'. Viewers tuned into the newest series of the reality game show, which saw the programme introduce a whole new batch of players into the game. One particular star, Charlotte, became a quick hit with fans when she showed up and spoke in a Welsh accent only to later reveal she's not actually from Wales.
The 32-year-old business director is from London and shocked viewers when she admitted the truth. They rushed to social media to share their delight at her little white lie, with one user writing on X/Twitter: "‘i am not actually Welsh’ GAGGED," along with a GIF of Louis Tomlinson looking stunned.
"3 female traitors, armani crying at breakfast, a fake welsh accent, we are SO back baby," another happy viewer said along with a reaction video of Margot Robbie edited to look like she was giving a movie a five-star review on Letterboxd. Another 'obsessed' fan said: "Absolutely obsessed with her pretending to be Welsh for literally no real reason… proper television is back.".
One fan wrote: "Obsessed with Charlotte faking being Welsh in the most pointless plot twist the show has ever seen," and one viewer posted: "My favourite thing about Charlotte pretending to be Welsh is that it’s completely unnecessary and that’s what makes it so camp like it’s giving The Circle rather than #TheTraitors.".
The New Year episode saw host Claudia Winkleman, 52, choose the traitors, opting for 70-year-old retired opera singer Linda, 29-year-old call centre manager Minah and 27-year-old financial investigator Armani. After deliberating for the very first time, the traitors chose to murder 34-year-old Yin from Berkshire.
