This comes as Queen Letizia chaired the board meeting of a youth charity based in Madrid on Thursday. As honorary president of the FAD Juventud Foundation, Letizia, 52, supports the organisation's educational work focused on fighting youth drug addiction.
Letizia was welcomed to the board meeting by FAD Juventud Foundation's vice president, Ignacio Calderon Balanzategui. Not only does the organisation tackle drug misuse amongst children and teenagers, it also works with educators to help 'improve the well-being and quality of life' of young people more broadly.
She has had a particularly busy schedule this week, including a diplomatic lunch and a special gallery visit. On Wednesday, she and husband King Felipe welcomed the Egyptian president to Madrid. The royal couple hosted President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi for lunch at the opulent Zarzuela Palace, their residence on the outskirts of Spain's capital.
