Ruben Amorim's handling of Marcus Rashford has been criticised with the Manchester United boss accused of "killing his price tag". The forward hasn't played for the Red Devils for well over a month but is currently on the outside of the first-team picture. He's not even being selected for matchday squads with Amorim calling out his attitude and behaviour, particularly in training.

It has led to talk of a move away from Manchester for Rashford, who has continued to underwhelm following his 30-goal season in 2022-23. Over the past two campaigns, he's scored just 11 times but the likes of Barcelona and AC Milan have all been linked.

Amorim hasn't been shy in speaking publicly about Rashford but Carlton Cole has fired back at the new United boss, who has struggled for results. He's claimed that his comments will only devalue a player they could look to sell. The former England and West Ham striker said on The Dressing Room Podcast: "I want to know what’s going on. He’s killing him and you’re killing his price tag as well, by the way. Rashford is a commodity, he’s money.

"If you really want to sell him on, why would you say that?! That’s why I think Amorim is a little bit naive because he’s going with his emotions. He’s thinking, 'Rashford’s not doing what I’m saying and I’m the boss!'". The latest blow for Rashford saw Amorim claim he'd rather include his 63-year-old coach on the bench rather than the academy graduate if he didn't change his attitude towards training. That is despite the Rashford camp insisting he's committed to playing for the United boss again.
