Sabrina Carpenter has been announced as the winner of the Global Success award at the BRIT Awards 2025. The news was shared on the BRITs WhatsApp channel, making her the first international artist to receive the award. She will also perform at the ceremony on Saturday, March 1, at The O2 arena in London. The show, hosted by Jack Whitehall, will be broadcast live on ITV1 and ITVX. The Global Success award recognises artists with huge international sales. Previous winners include Adele, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, and One Direction. Sabrina had an incredible year in 2024, breaking records on the charts. She held the number one spot on the Official UK Charts for 20 weeks, something no artist has done in 71 years.
She also became the first female artist to hold the top three spots on the UK Singles Chart at the same time with Taste, Please Please Please, and Espresso. In the U.S., she made history by being the first solo artist to have her first three top-five singles appear in the top five at the same time. Sabrina is set to join other performers at the BRITs, including JADE, Myles Smith, Shaboozey, Teddy Swims, and The Last Dinner Party. BRITs Committee Chair Damian Christian said: "Congratulations to Sabrina on winning this prestigious award. Everyone involved in the show is looking forward to her performance, which promises to be one of the highlights of the night.".
Sabrina started her career as a Disney actress before becoming a global pop star. She has sold out arenas worldwide and earned multiple platinum records. In 2024, she made her debut at Coachella, where she was one of the festival’s most talked-about performers. Sabrina isn't leaving the UK anytime soon after the BRITs. A month before releasing her sixth album last summer, she announced plans for a European tour, with UK dates starting March 6 in Birmingham and March 8 in London. After her split from Saltburn actor Barry Keoghan in December, Sabrina is focused on her busy year ahead.
She said: “I think a new year is a great time to reflect on all you have achieved, to be grateful for all you have, to be thankful for all the people in your life that love you. It’s also a great to leave stuff in the past that wasn’t good for you, any negative experiences or emotions and just have a fresh start.”. The BRITs 2025 nominations were announced last month, with artists like Billie Eilish, Central Cee, Chappell Roan, Charli XCX, Dua Lipa, Michael Kiwanuka, Taylor Swift, The Beatles, and The Cure among the nominees. The winners will be revealed live on March 1. Fans can vote for five genre awards via WhatsApp until February 14 at 11:59 p.m.
The BRITs will once again take place at The O2 arena, with Mastercard, ITV, and The O2 continuing as sponsors. The event also supports The BRIT Trust, which funds music education and well-being projects like The BRIT School and Nordoff and Robbins. Like this story?
