Ousted Faithful Dan Bird says he’s glad he stuck to his guns with his “selfish” strategy - even though it saw him banished from The Traitors. The bank risk manager from Liverpool was the latest to be voted off at the roundtable after the others learned he’d lied about the challenge. Accepting his ruthless approach led to his downfall, Dan says he wouldn’t change a thing. “I really enjoyed how I came across in that episode," he reflected. "I feel like I was authentically me. I stuck to my guns. Maybe at times that might have been a bit of a downfall but I don't think I would've been able to play it differently. It would've been helpful if I was able to play a bit more flexibly, but that's just not me.”.

Dan is the first to say he played a selfish game but insists it took him so far. “I said it from the outset," he admitted. "It was like ‘Take a drink every time Dan says he's selfish.’ That strategy was able to save me from a lot of things in the game. I was able to stay on the train, I was able to stay on the boat. I was able to win the mission as well. So it did have its benefits, but it also had its drawbacks.”.

He’ll be remembered for his straight talking, his withering looks and eye rolling. “I’m gonna be so conscious about the eye rolls,” he laughed. “I didn’t realise that I did it so it was, it was eyeopening. Excuse the pun!”. After receiving no votes throughout the series, Dan’s fortunes quickly changed in Friday night’s episode when it transpired he’d lied about choosing to gunge good pal Minah - a Traitor. He says there are no hard feelings between the pair. “Minah was great,” he said. “I always felt really comfortable and safe around her. We did have that Liverpool connection and we would talk strategy.”.
