Sam Thompson has confessed he was "feeling scared" following his split from Zara McDermott. Just weeks earlier, the ex-Made in Chelsea star had labelled Zara, 28, as his soulmate, prior to their break up that ended a five-year romance. Now, it's said that former Love Island star Zara has moved out of their shared residence which is right beside Sam's sister Louise’s place. On the Staying Relevant podcast with The Only Way is Essex hunk Pete Wicks, Sam spilled the beans on his difficult time post-split, especially after being left to spend Christmas on his own - a fact confirmed by reports noting the 32 year old's solitary festive period.
Sam recalled: "It was tough, and with Pete not answering his f****** phone. The only thing I'm going to say because of other parties and such is that it's been a tough month, a real tough month.". Despite winning I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!, Sam said the unaccustomed public scrutiny has been daunting, considering himself too "boring". He admitted: "I never have felt so scared in my life.".
Pete, however, jokingly remarked that Sam wasn't entirely "alone" - as photographers camped outside his home. Giving back, Sam chose to volunteer on Christmas Day, saying: "I went and did charity on Christmas Day. I was alone so I went 'you know what'.".
The erstwhile couple’s home seemed less merry this season, with it looking increasingly likely that Zara has indeed packed up her things. Meanwhile, Sam was seen playing Santa for the Camila Batmanghelidjh Foundation which is dedicated to assisting vulnerable children and families, reports Lancs Live.
