Fans of The Sopranos have been left devastated after discovering the fate of the iconic building where Tony Soprano and his mob would often gather. A video, which has since gone viral on X, revealed the current state of the location used for Satriale's Pork Store. Characters from the HBO series, including Soprano, portrayed by the late James Gandolfini, were frequently seen outside the shopfront.
Silvio Dante, played by The E Street Band guitarist Stevie Van Zandt, and Tony Sirico, who played Paulie 'Walnuts', were also regularly spotted outside the store. An X account dedicated to posting behind-the-scenes clips, interviews and memes of The Sopranos has since commented that they "paved paradise and put up a parking lot.".
This took on a rather tragic, literal meaning as fans realised the location used for Satriale's Pork Store had been demolished and converted into a car park. The account confirmed it had been a parking lot "for at least a decade" as dedicated fans of the show expressed their anger.
One wrote: "Thanks for ruining my day." The original poster replied: "Sorry bro. If it makes you feel any better, Satriales has been a parking lot for at least a decade. But the original Centannis is still there.". Other users have since shared why the team were able to use the location in the first place, confirming it had been abandoned beforehand.
They wrote: 'It was a vacant auto parts store before the show. That's why the production was able to use it.'" One disheartened TV buff bemoaned the demolition, lamenting that their upcoming trip to New York might now be in vain. "I'm going new York in June and was going to go on the sopranos tour. Is there any point now?" they questioned.
