Elizabeth Holmes has denied having a second child to delay the start of her prison sentence, insisting that she 'always wanted to be a mother.'. The disgraced Theranos founder, 41, shares two children with partner Billy Evans - three-year-old son William, and two-year-old daughter Invicta. She was convicted on four counts of fraud and conspiracy following a high-profile trial in 2022 and began her 11.25 year prison sentence on May 30, 2023 – three months after the birth of her daughter.

Holmes was due to start her sentence in April. 'I always wanted to be a mother,' she told People in her first interview from jail. 'I truly did not think I would ever be convicted or found guilty.'. At the beginning of her sentence, Holmes collected milk in a plastic bag for her newborn, which was then stored in a freezer until visitation. 'I wanted my daughter to have her mother's milk,' she continued to the publication.

'It was important to me because it was a way to love her in here.'. Elizabeth Holmes has denied having a second child to delay the start of her prison sentence. The disgraced Theranos founder shares two children with her partner Billy Evans. As it currently stands, Holmes is due to be released on December 29, 2032, slightly more than nine and a half years after she began her prison sentence. Last February, Holmes was spotted celebrating her 40th birthday behind bars.

At the time, she was seen playing in the prison yard with her other half Billy and their children at FPC Bryan in Texas. Dressed in her prison-issued khakis, Holmes couldn't contain her joy and smiled as she held her son and was visited by her parents and friends. The multi-million dollar pharmaceutical scammer has allegedly been doing workout classes and spending time with her fellow high-profile inmate, Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Jen Shah.

She has also been taking maternal advice from Shah, with sources previously claiming that they have been helping each other 'get through' their incarcerations. Holmes had once modeled herself as the next Bill Gates or Steve Jobs and won widespread acclaim – including from Harvard University and Time magazine – for a phony technology which she claimed would revolutionize blood-testing methods by using miraculously tiny volumes of blood, such as from a finger prick.

'I always wanted to be a mother,' Holmse (pictured with Evans in 2022) told People in her first interview from jail. 'I truly did not think I would ever be convicted or found guilty'. At the beginning of her sentence, Holmes collected milk in a plastic bag for her newborn. She started Theranos when she dropped out of Stanford University at the age of 19 and had soon scooped in nearly $1 billion in funding from some of the world's biggest pockets.

Holmes' stake in Theranos at one point catapulted her paper wealth to $4.5 billion. She never sold any of her stock in the company, though trial evidence left no doubt she reveled in the trappings of fame and fortune – so much so that she and Evans, the father of her children, lived on a palatial Silicon Valley estate during the trial. Holmes' lies were uncovered in a series of explosive articles in The Wall Street Journal beginning in October 2015.
