Loved-up Kylie Jenner is now 'firmly established' alongside Timothée Chalamet and they no longer appear to be the 'odd couple' they once were, a leading body language expert claims. The couple made a surprise joint appearance at this year’s BAFTA Film Awards and fans think they’ve spotted another sign of just how truly devoted they are to one another. Judi James agrees, and thinks they look the real deal - and that their relationship is being accepted.
Actor Timothée, 29, was nominated for a BAFTA for his appearance in A Complete Unknown and she was there alongside him. Kylie, 27, has publicly shown her support for her beau by accompanying him at various events, including the Berlin Film Festival and they stepped out again. Judi was keeping a close eye on the pair and she told the Mirror: "Now that Kylie seems firmly established as Timothee's plus one for award nights she also appears to have finally been shown the ultimate gesture of respect as a celebrity partner by Timothee dropping his state of eternal teenager wardrobe choices and dressing to match her stubborn insistence of sophisticated, sensual elegance.
"It finally pins them as a like-minded, matching pair that might have actually arrived at the events from the same venue, with conversations beforehand about co-ordination. Before they've looked like the odd couple, however their body language still lacks personality-based synchronicity despite all the obvious touch rituals. "Kylie's body language suggests awareness and a very adult sense of desire to shield, support and encourage her man. We can see her glance up at the screens as David Tennant approaches to chat, to check she's in shot, and her clapping of their entwined hands shows she's Timothee's very emphatic fan-girl for the night.".
Judi went on: "She tries to put the record straight with a double self-point when Tennant accuses her of being a Kylie double, while Timothee just sits cutely, listing to and laughing at the gag. Timothee's body language is still that of a shy teenager and it's Kylie registering a protective, shielding presence. "Her arm is held out across his body as a barrier in one pose and she holds his thigh with one hand that is angled downward in another gesture of anchoring and protection, rather than just straightforward affection. He whispers into her ear like a shy child and she performs micro-strokes and clasps that make her seem like a proud and reassuring presence.
"Their body language as they socialise suggests a more evenly based double act though. They move around together and when they chat to other guests there seems to be some telling glances exchanging, which is a technique couples often use to perform a well-synchronized, shared form of social conversation.". In their latest move, the Kardashians star joined Timothée for this year’s BAFTA Film Awards where they dazzled in matching black outfits. The pair, who went public with their romance last year, kept things chic as they both sported head-to-toe black looks. As he walked the red carpet, the Wonka star looked dapper in a black double breasted blazer and matching trousers.
Kylie skipped the red carpet and headed straight to her seat. As she joined Timothée, she stunned in a plunging black gown which featured embellished details. However, it’s not Timothée or Kylie’s clothes that have got fans talking. Some eagle-eyed social media users spotted the duo’s matching choice of accessories as the pair showed their love for one another through the medium of jewellery.
In addition to his double breasted blazer, Dune star Timothée wore a statement silver necklace and chunky silver ring on his little finger. Similarly, Kylie wore a pair of earrings which looked eerily like Timothée’s necklace and accessorised with a matching statement ring. Commenting on the matching choice of jewellery, one person wrote on X: “TIMOTHEE AND KYLIE MATCHING jewelry I CANTT”. Another added: “Kylie matching jewelry with Timothee aaaa”.
