Crisps enthusiasts are convinced Walkers is bringing back one of its best-loved flavours nearly two years after it was discontinued. On Wednesday, February 26, the British snacking giant left a trail of crumbs on Twitter/X that sent fans of the 'top-tier' Worcester Sauce crips into meltdown as they wait for an official announcement that it's coming back.

Walkers discontinued the flavour in October 2023 - much to the disappointment of UK shoppers, with several people calling on the company to reinstate it immediately in passionate messages on social media. One such tweet read: 'just found out they've discontinued worcester sauce flavour walkers.'.

But earlier this week, the X account of Walkers - founded by Gary Lineker - resurfaced that tweet by leaving a cryptic emoji-only message in response to the user. The response, comprising a purple heart and a pair of eyes, sparked memes, GIFs, and even tears of joy in the comments section, as one person declared: 'I would do a little happy cry, I think.'.

Another pleaded: 'I BEG you bring it back, it's my fave walkers flavour pleaseeeeee.'. 'BRING THEM BACK,' a third person wrote. Crisps enthusiasts are convinced Walkers is bringing back one of its best-loved flavours nearly two years after it was discontinued.

'OMG IT'S COMING BACK,' another overjoyed Walkers fans replied. While Walkers did not confirm when the flavour would be back on supermarket  shelves, the firm directed fans to 'keep your eyes peeled on your DMs'. The crisp manufacturer first confirmed the 'Worcester Sauce flavour is no longer part of our range' in a tweet on X in October 2023.

At the time, an observant shopper who had been searching for a multipack of the flavour for the last eight months replied saying they now understood 'why they were always out of stock'. One fan remarked: 'What the hell @walkers_crisps, Worcester Sauce was the best flavour you did! You need to bring them back ASAP!'.

Another fan admitted they were so devastated by the decision, they needed some time alone. 'I just found out Worcester Sauce crisps got discontinued. Don't talk to me I'm so upset,' they said. One irate fan told X: 'The world is so f*****g horrible right now, excuse me while I lend my ire to the only issue I can afford to focus my energy on right now.

On Wednesday, February 26, the snacking giant left a trail of crumbs on Twitter/X that sent fans of the 'top-tier' Worcester Sauce crips into meltdown as they waited for an official announcement that it was coming back. 'Why oh why did @walkers_crisps discontinue the God-level flavour, Worcester Sauce? I am bereft. Still'.

One mother revealed her son is 'still mourning the loss of Worcester Sauce crisps' and resorted to buying a 'large bag' of M&S's version of the same flavour, but he was still not satisfied. Lots of crisp fans said they couldn't understand why an 'underrated, top-tier' flavour had been discontinued.

After Walkers teased its return on social media on Wednesday, fans also made the case for the company to bring back some of their other favourite flavours - with BBQ Rib emerging one of the top contenders for a crisp comeback. 'BBQ RIB NEXT!!!!!!' one enthusiastic message read.

Last August, Walkers discontinued another well-loved flavour that was part of its Sensations range - including premium varieties of crisps, poppadoms and nuts in a variety of intense and bold flavours. Some of its most popular crisp variations include Thai Sweet Chilli, Balsamic Vinegar & Caramelised Onion and Roasted Chicken & Thyme.

However, one exotic limited-edition flavour was axed last August - leaving dozens of fans yearning for its comeback. Sensations' Mexican Fiery Sweet Chipotle crisps were first introduced to the existing range for a limited time in 2015. Despite it quickly becoming a fan favourite - with scores of crisp lovers rushing to their local supermarkets to stack their baskets with the savoury treat - the flavour was later discontinued.

In the flavour description at the back of the packet, it read: 'First the deep, smoky flavour of chipotle chilli gives way to sweet pimento and onion, before finishing with a spicy, lingering heat.'. A Walkers spokesperson said: 'We said goodbye to our Walkers Mexican Fiery Sweet Chipotle Sensations more than a decade ago, but we're glad fans still have fond memories of the flavour. Continuously evolving our portfolio enables us to focus our efforts on making more of the flavours people love the most.'.
