A woman has said she will 'never shop at B&M again' after her bargain beers exploded over her family's Christmas dinner and made her partner, who is suffering from cancer, sick. Jane Proctor purchased three beers on Monday, December 23, from B&M at Western Avenue Retail Park in Cardiff.

She told WalesOnline the beers were a Christmas treat for boyfriend Huw John, who is unable to use his mouth due to suffering from stage four throat cancer. The beers were on offer and she picked up three bottles of Shipyard IPA for £5. However when he tried to open his festive beer, it exploded all over the turkey and left a strange smell lingering.

The beer also had an odd taste and after Huw took a quick mouthful to prevent the foam from going on the turkey, he vomited straight afterwards. Upon further inspection, they soon realised the beers were months out of date. Newly shop bought alcohol usually has a long sell-by date and they never considered checking before they made the purchase, she said.
On Boxing Day, Miss Proctor returned to B&M and was horrified to find the out of date beers were still available to buy.
