Bianca Censori made headlines over the weekend for breaking recent convention by being fully dressed and appearing alongside her husband Kanye West after reports of a split. What got missed in some quarters, however, is that the pair were together for a premiere for a little known film that they have created together about fashion.

Once predominantly a rapper, 47-year-old Ye has increasingly turned to style in recent years and has made his Australian wife his muse. Censori caused a stir at the Grammy Awards as she appeared on the red carpet alongside her husband in a barely-there transparent dress. The risque outfit sparked a flurry of articles asking whether the 30-year-old is ok and what her background is.
In the aftermath of the Grammys, there were also reports that the pair are set to split, having tied the knot in December 2022. But the appearance of the pair together on Sunday suggests they are still an item, at least for now. Most of the details have come from Ye’s own Instagram - where he only has three posts, and two of them are in relation to the film.
The film appears to be called Bianca - although what’s on the film poster is written in Japanese script and it reads: “Preview act”. “I'M SO PROUD OF MY WIFE FOR STARRING IN HER FIRST FEATURE FILM SHOT IN JAPAN DIRECTED BY VANESSA BEECROFT PRODUCED BY ME,” Ye captioned a post.
The Japan link is also unclear. Perhaps one link is that Ye’s daughter North West is learning Japanese and raps in the language on the recent FKA Twigs song Childlike Things. The premiere of the film was advertised as three acts - which were all shown at a Los Angeles warehouse. West and Censori were seen in Koreatown afterwards.
Tickets to the premiere were sold online to the public, although the poster advertised it for “family and friends”. Censori stars in the film and, according to TMZ, is seen in one scene in a see-through bodysuit while rolling around on the floor. She is also shown to chop her hair and also wears a blonde wig.
From having scoured the internet and attempted to gain any insight into what West is thinking - we are drawing a blank. There is no trailer, no release date, no cast, really nothing much more. Beecroft, who filmed West’s 2020 documentary Donda: With Child, has not acknowledged the film in any greater way than resharing the poster.
