Wynne Evans returned to social media to send praise to his Strictly Come Dancing co-star. The Welsh opera singer had been silent on Instagram for two weeks following the scandal that saw him leave the tour and have a break from his BBC radio show. Now, he has returned to send a four-word comment to tour winner, former Love Island star, Tasha Ghouri. Tasha took to the platform to share her victorious images alongside professional dance partner Aljaz Skorjanec. She gushed in the caption: "Winners of the @strictlycomedancinglive tour!! 24 glitterballs, 35 arenas, a month of travelling around the UK & I get to take the trophy home after 6 months of strictly… this chapter has come to an end, but they all say good things come to an end. What an absolute whirlwind it has been, I really am going to miss this but here’s to more dancing in the future because it doesn’t end here!".
She continued to praise her partner and explained the final victory finished their journey "in the best way". "Dancing with you everyday on tour has just been magical, fun & I’m going to miss not being in a ballroom frame moving across that floor with you," she penned. "Thank you for everything. "I’ve made great friendships & memories I’ll cherish forever. Thank you so much to everyone who came to watch and voted! Means the world, thank you for all of your cheers, signs, smiles and all the sparkles you all bought.".
Thousands of people clicked the like button on the post, while Wynne was among those commenting. He simply wrote: "Well done lovely lady. Xxxx." His former dance partner Katya Jones also shared her praise, writing: "So wonderful to get to watch you dance every day on your!!! so well deserved.". Wynne left the tour after making a lewd comment in host Janette Manrara's direction. He was was recorded commenting when she walked over to the group. He sang out: "Go Compare," before adding: "Not too close to Jamie [Borthwick]." He then used the hugely demeaning term "spit roast" in reference to a lewd sexual act.
BBC bosses had initially let him off with a warning but then caved in as anger grew and he stepped away from the live dates. The Welsh singer apologised again for his behaviour and said: "I’ve agreed with the BBC that I’ll take some time out from my radio show and the Strictly Live tour, as well as my other public commitments, to prioritise my wellbeing. “I am deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate actions have caused, and plan to take this time for self-reflection. Apologies to those I won’t get to see at the remaining performances and I’m grateful to my fellow tour gang for all the amazing support they have given me.”.
