Strictly Come Dancing star Katya Jones has addressed the scandal surrounding Wynne Evans – with two words. The opera singer and GoCompare advert star, 52, is currently appearing on the nationwide tour of the BBC dance competition, alongside Katya. However, he has since been dealt a warning by BBC bosses following his vulgar remark aimed at tour host, Janette Manrara.

But despite the scandal, it appears that Wynne still has the support of Katya who has taken to social media and shared a snap with the scandal-hit star. In view of her 252,000 followers on Instagram, she re-shared a post, orginally posted by Love Island's Tasha Ghouri as she, Tasha, Wynne and Jamie Borthwick sat in a bar, relaxing.

Captioning her re-share, Katya penned: "Tour fam," along with a red-heart emoji. During a recent photocall in Birmingham with fellow cast stars JB Gill, Montell Douglas, Shayne Ward and Jamie, Wynne made a lewd joke as Janette walked over. As he and the cast huddled together for a photo, Evans had been recorded making an inappropriate sexual comment to Janette when she walked over to the group.

He sang out: "Go Compare," before adding: "Not too close to Jamie." He then used the hugely demeaning term "spit roast" in reference to a lewd sexual act in the video published by Daily Mail. Wynne has since addressed his controversial comment and apologised. In a statement shared with the Mirror, he said: "My language was inappropriate and unacceptable for which I sincerely apologise.".

A BBC spokesperson has also confirmed that they have spoken to the opera singer and said they "do not tolerate such behaviour". Tour producers have also issued him with a warning. A spokesman for the Strictly live tour and BBC Studios: "We were not previously aware of the remark and did not receive any complaints. We have made it very clear to Wynne that we do not tolerate such behaviour on the tour.".
