Jimmy Barnes ’introduces’ long-lost daughter Katy Lee Carroll to the world after meeting her five years ago. The Cold Chisel frontman has four adult children with his wife Jane, who he celebrated his 43rd anniversary with earlier this year. He also is the father of singer and Today Extra host David Campbell, 53, who was born when he was a teenager before his rise to fame in the 70s.
Two other previously unknown daughters both in their early 50s, Amanda Bennett and Megan Torzyn, met Jimmy for the first time in 2010. After five years of getting to know Katy Lee, Jimmy, 68, posted a statement on Instagram asking for privacy for his daughter.
He wrote: ‘Christmas is all about family and we would like to introduce my daughter Katy Lee, who has been in our lives for the past five years. Katy is a wonderful woman and since discovering that I was her biological father, our family and extended family have loved getting to know her.
‘It’s been heartwarming to see good relationships growing with her sisters and brothers. We have always respected her very strong desire to keep her family life private and will continue to support her.’. The Best hitmaker added: ‘I’d like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy Christmas. I look forward to bringing you all more music in the New Year.’.
Katy Lee’s Instagram is filled with cute family snaps with her dad and siblings, with sweet comments like ‘we love you’ and ‘heart is full’. Jimmy’s other children — Mahalia, Jackie, Eliza-Jane and Elly-May Barnes — have been spending time with their new sibling at concerts.
