The Night Agent is coming back to Netflix on January 23 for a second season, which is set in a brand new location and features plenty of new faces. After Peter Sutherland (played by Gabriel Basso) left Rose Larkin (Luciane Buchanan) to take on a new mission, fans can prepare themselves for another dangerous adventure.

The action thriller is based on the novel of the same name by Matthew Quirk and despite there only being one book for source material, Netflix was keen to renew the series for not one, but two more seasons. Within a month of its initial release, the show had become the streaming service's sixth most-viewed series. In October 2024, ahead of the second-season premiere, the series was renewed for a third season.

Casting is already well underway for season three, with Genesis Rodriguez was cast as a series regular back in November 2024. In December, David Lyons, Jennifer Morrison, Stephen Moyer, and Callum Vinson joined as series regulars while Suraj Sharma joined in a recurring role for the third season.

Deadline offered some insight into the characters, saying: "Lyons will play a former spy lured out of retirement, Morrison will play the First Lady, Moyer will play a top hitman; and Rodriguez will play a reporter.". These character details are yet to be officially confirmed by Netflix.

When the casting announcement was made, season three had launched a production unit in Istanbul and it was announced the show would return to film in New York in 2025. Netflix Tudum shared filming would take place across a seven month period, so it will most likely wrap in June 2025.
