Ange Postecoglou's stance on Timo Werner's Tottenham future after Tamworth struggles

Timo Werner endured a torrid time against non-league Tamworth this weekend and Ange Postecoglou has already given his verdict on the forward's future. The former Chelsea and RB Leipzig ace suffered a fruitless afternoon as Spurs required extra-time to navigate their way past the National League side. The Germany international frustrated the travelling supporters as he proved wasteful and couldn't convert a one-on-one opportunity to earn his side an earlier victory.
Werner saw his loan to Spurs extended in the summer after initially joining the club 12 months ago. Postecoglou's side had the opportunity to sign the 28-year-old for £15million but instead negotiated another temporary stint. The striker has failed to convince this season and even saw one performance labelled unacceptable by Postecoglou earlier this season. The Spurs boss has been unequivocal since that Werner will see out his loan however.
“Yeah, the last thing I want is to lose another player at the moment,” Postecoglou said before the game agains Tamworth. "The other night after Rodrigo (Bentancur) went off, we had 11 first-team players out. We’re not letting anyone go at this point".
"I think he’s made an impact, even on the weekend when he came on, he’s got certain attributes that can hurt any team," he added. "You saw that on the weekend, he’s got a real turn of pace. We’ve needed that in games at times, particularly late in games.
“His attitude has never been a problem in terms of the way he trains, or the way he’s going about things. I felt that day [against Rangers], particularly with the situation we were in and him being a senior player, I thought he could have contributed more. But since then he’s made an impact as we’ve wanted to. There’s certainly never been any problems with his attitude.".
