Arne Slot reserved plenty of praise for Rio Ngumoha after the 16-year-old became the youngest player to ever start for Liverpool in the FA Cup.. The Red youngster was a shock inclusion in Slot's team for Saturday's early kick-off against Accrington Stanley. Liverpool cruised to a 4-0 win over their League Two opponents courtesy of goals from Diogo Jota, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jayden Danns and Federico Chiesa.
It was Ngumoha, though, who caught the eye with an assured display - and Slot felt the teenager showed fans why he has already made a big impression behind the scenes. Speaking to ITV Sport, Slot said of Ngumoha: "He did well. There were a few moments where the fans could see why we think he's a talent. He is good in one-v-one situations.

The Dutchman would continue to laud the youngster during a seperate interview with Match of the Day, saying: "I think he showed the fans what we have seen when he has trained with us. "It's always nice for him to show this the first time you play [at Anfield] - getting a win for him means it's a special day.".
