Arne Slot speaks out on surprise Liverpool link to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

Arne Slot would not indulge speculation linking Liverpool with a surprise move for Napoli forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, refusing to comment on transfer rumours. The 23-year-old is an important part of Antonio Conte’s side as they challenge for the Serie A title this season, currently sitting three points clear at the top of the table.
The Georgian has made 17 appearances in the top flight so far this campaign, scoring five goals, having reached double figures in both his previous seasons with the club. Napoli do not want to lose him and have held talks over extending his contract beyond 2027, when his current deal ends, but an agreement is yet to be reached and a deal could be done at the right price.
Some of Europe’s biggest clubs are circling, with Paris Saint-Germain reportedly leading the way, but both Liverpool and Chelsea have also been credited with an interest in the wide forward who would cost around £67m. Slot was asked about the reported interest from Anfield but had little to add, other than he expects his club to be linked with plenty of players but almost none of that speculation to be accurate.
‘What I make of that is that it’s January,’ said the Reds boss. ‘I think I said after the West Ham game not to disappoint me, please come up with all these clubs and all these players that have interest from us or the ones that don’t play a lot for us to go somewhere else. That is what’s happening now.
