Arsenal crashed out of the FA Cup in the third round after they were beaten by Manchester United on penalties. The Gunners had plenty of chances to win the game before losing on penalties, especially as United defender Diogo Dalot was sent off shortly after the hour mark.

Bruno Fernandes had put the visitors ahead before then, but Gabriel got Arsenal back on level terms minutes after Dalot was dismissed. Mikel Arteta’s side, however, could not find a winning goal, with Martin Odegaard missing a penalty, and they were eventually beaten 5-3 on spot-kicks as they crashed out of the FA Cup.

Simon Collings was at Emirates Stadium to see Arsenal in action... David Raya 6. Beaten by a great finish by Fernandes. Had very little to do, however he made a great stop to keep out Joshua Zirkzee in extra-time. Did not get near any of the penalties. Jurrien Timber 6.

Had some nice link-up play in the first-half when Jesus was on the right wing. Another solid performance. Appeared to go off holding his hamstring. William Saliba 6. Kept Rasmus Hojlund quiet and forced the United striker to feed off very little. Little to no defending to do after United went down to 10 men.

Gabriel 7. Slipped and allowed Alejandro Garnacho to drive forward and setup Fernandes’ goal. Made amends by scoring to get Arsenal back level. Myles Lewis-Skelly 6. Kept his place in the team with Riccardo Calafiori out due to injury. Almost caught out on the ball a few times, but largely solid.
