Arsenal have been told they must sign Alexander Isak to aid their bid to win a first Premier League title in more than 20 years. The Gunners have finished as runners-up to Manchester City in each of the last two seasons, falling just two points behind last term. In a team full of talent, they have often been accused of lacking the firepower to get them over the line.

Mikel Arteta's side have been linked with a whole host of strikers in recent seasons including Viktor Gyokeres, Ollie Watkins and Ivan Toney. They were even said to have been interested in Isak before his £63million move from Real Sociedad to Newcastle.

Gabriel Jesus has scored five goals in his last two matches for the Gunners, albeit all against Crystal Palace. But the Brazilian forward's efforts have often not been enough with the ex-City star struggling to command a starting berth. Former Premier League winner Dwight Yorke believes Arsenal should splash £100m to rectify missing out on Isak previously, if they hope to avoid dropping points, as they did to Everton and Fulham in succession. The ex-Manchester United star is aghast they did not land the striker at the first attempt.

"Everyone keeps banging on about Arsenal missing a number nine, and I do think there’s something to it," Yorke told sportslens.com. "You watch their games, the last two, they’ve been so dominant and haven’t been able to win the games. "Let’s have it right, they’ve dropped four vital points in their two last Premier League fixtures against Everton and Fulham [before Crystal Palace]. They’re missing something.
