Another year is almost over and a new transfer window is fast approaching. Once again it is talk of a striker that dominates the Arsenal agenda as January rears its head. Twelve months ago the Gunners showed sign of struggle as they appeared short of firepower but ultimately finished second in the Premier League.

With Bukayo Saka's injury absence, questions over who can carry the burden of finding the net for Mikel Arteta's side and the Gunners title credentials are only heightening. After making signings such as Leandro Trossard and Jorginho in previous January windows, could they make a move again?.

Mirror Football takes a look at the latest transfer news surrounding the Emirates below. Wolves forward Matheus Cunha is of interest to Arsenal, with the Gunners' position in place before the injury to Bukayo Saka. The Telegraph report any January transfer interest will lead to a huge battle as Wolves attempt to secure their place as a Premier League club.

The Midlands side signed Cunha from Atletico Madrid for £44million and the forward still has two years remaining on his deal. Wolves hope the player will commit his future to a longer deal and regardless of when he makes an exit, the striker is likely to see his team earn a profit.

Longtime Arsenal target Benjamin Sesko has a flurry of interest in him with five or more teams said to be considering a move. The RB Leipzig striker decided to remain in Germany in the summer but already clubs are lining up to take him elsewhere, though any successful move is more likely to occur in the summer.
