BBC Morning Live and Strictly Come Dancing star Dr Punam Krishan has opened up about struggling with imposter syndrome. The GP, 41, was paired with professional dancer Gorka Márquez on Strictly 2024 and their performance to Bhole Chudiye from the film Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham marked the first time a contestant had performed a traditional Bollywood dance on the show.
Dr Punam has revealed that Strictly has taught her to say yes to opportunities as well as helping her with her own self-belief, reports Wales Online. Talking exclusively about her plans for 2025, Dr Punam said: "The one thing that Strictly has very much taught me is because I suffer massively from things like imposter syndrome. I think people tend to see me and just assume that I'm a super confident person but I think self-belief is something I've been really working on!.
"So I think in regards to having done Strictly, next year for me is just a huge yes year, I'm just going to say yes to whatever comes to me!". Dr Punam also revealed how she will be working on her book projects, television duties at BBC Morning Live and working as a GP. The medic added: "Just seeing what happens, whatever door may open, I will definitely take a peek round and see!".
However, despite a busy year ahead, Dr Punam, who was the fifth celebrity to leave Strictly, has revealed she won't be taking part in the upcoming Strictly Come Dancing Live! tour. The medic explained: "There's just no way I could juggle my NHS schedule with the tour so I'll be very much supporting all my pals who are doing it and I can't wait to watch them but no, it's not something I'll be doing!".
