Viewers of drama series Strike all shared the same thing minutes into the latest series Ink Black Heart series. The new series, Strike: The Ink Black Heart, is based on the book of the same name and sees our detective duo Cormoran Strike (Tom Burke) and Robin Ellacott (Holliday Grainger) try to solve the mystery of the death of a popular cartoonist, Edie Ledwell.
Robin and Cormoran find themselves entangled in the mystery as they uncover a complicated network of online aliases, business interests and familial disputes. Now in its sixth series, viewers will know the pair's 'will they won't they' dynamic with fans keen for the duo to act on their feelings. The opening episode on Monday evening (December 16) revisits the pair's friendship and whether they will finally get together at a belated birthday dinner for Robin.
After a fun dinner, Strike walks with Ellacott to get a taxi but as they lock eyes, Strike leans in for a kiss but Robin pulls away. The awkward moment and miscommunication ends with Robin taken away in a taxi and a regretful Tom walking away. Fans watching the almost-kiss wished for more - but understand why the pair didn't lock lips.
One fan commented: "Why the hell did she do that. She likes him as well and now he feels rejected. God damn it.". Another viewer shared: "The chemistry between Tom Burke and Holliday Grainger is impeccable. So happy that #Strike is back!. "It's very rare that a TV adaptation of a book I love lives up to the source material, but this one does. Yes. Yes. Yes.".
