Viewers of BBC drama Strike have all been saying the same thing about the new Ink Black Heart series - with many calling the plot "confusing". The new series, Strike: The Ink Black Heart, is based on the book of the same name and sees detective duo Cormoran Strike (Tom Burke) and Robin Ellacott (Holliday Grainger) try to solve the mystery of the death of a popular cartoonist, Edie Ledwell.
Robin and Cormoran find themselves entangled in the mystery as they uncover a complicated network of online aliases, business interests and familial disputes. In the second episode of the series on Tuesday evening (December 17), viewers will have seen Robin and Cormoran try to rule out who is Anomie by having real-world conversations with the suspects.
As the duo continued to probe suspects and investigate who killed Edie, fans of the crime drama were unhappy with the flow of the latest series. A viewer commented on social media: "Well...complete confused, then fell asleep, not feeling this one. #Strike".
Another Strike fan wrote: "I'm a tad confused, but sure it will make sense eventually #Strike". One fan shared: "I'm finding this particular #Strike rather boring.". Strike: The Ink Black Heart is the sixth book in the long-running series by Robert Galbraith (pen name of J.K Rowling), which was previously criticised by fans. Many criticisms of the book including the novel was far too long, struggled to explore online fan culture and cover social media chatter.
