She is the London born and bred broadcaster who has graced our screens for several years. But before she carved out a hugely successful television career for herself, this presenting superstar studied History of Art at the University of Cambridge. In an unearthed video of a student fashion show taking place at the prestigious university in 1992, a younger version of the much-loved TV regular appears on-screen.
'It's a jokey thing, it's good,' she said in a higher-pitched voice than Brits have become used to. But it appears her charming sense of humour has always been the same. 'You have the chance to strut up and down wearing ten types of outfits, having your makeup done, extensions placed on nostrils, the whole thing,' she said with a cheeky grin on her face. 'And it's a chance to be a bit glamorous after the library,' she added.
Without her trademark hairstyle, fans were left in disbelief when they realised who it was. But can you guess who?. In an unearthed video of a student fashion show taking place at the prestigious university in 1992, a younger version of the much-loved TV regular appears on-screen. The judges have their scores - it's Claudia Winkleman!. The Strictly Come Dancing co-host has presented the BBC hit show since 2010 but has more recently received praise for her straight-face delivery on The Traitors.
The nation's favourite fringed presenter took home two gongs for the reality show at the BAFTA TV Awards in 2023 and a further prize at the National Television Award in 2024. But Claudia looks almost unrecognisable in the throwback clip posted on Instagram by her alma-mater Murray Edwards College, formerly New Hall. Instead of her trademark jet-black fringe, she swept her naturally brunette tresses to the right in a deep side part.
'Controversial task but I think she looks so much better with her hair like that,' one fan wrote in the comments. Claudia Winkleman (pictured) has graced our screens for years - but has most recently received praise for her straight-face delivery on The Traitors. The finale of series three of The Traitors aired on the BBC last week. Pictured: Claudia with the finalists. Claudia has co-hosted BBC's Strictly Come Dancing since 2010. Tess Daly (right) started in 2004. Another jested, 'oh my god she has a forehead' while a third commented, 'seeing her forehead feels invasive to her privacy'. Praising her natural hair, a fourth added: 'Divalicious from the start.'. Sadly for fans who loved her previous haircut, Claudia now has a strong attachment to her fringe, telling Hello! Magazine that it isn't going anywhere.
'I haven't seen my forehead for about 15 years,' she told the publication. 'I don't even know what's under my fringe - there could be squirrels, parrots - I've got no idea. But no I can't imagine ever getting rid of it.'. In 2020, she told Grazia: 'Weirdly my hair is the least of my worries. I've only got my hair, that's what I'm holding onto, everything else has gone to pot.'. After the explosive final of The Traitors aired last week, fans of the show may be forgiven for thinking Claudia follows a gruelling workout regime.
But the beloved TV host takes a more laid-back approach to wellness, with Claudia previously declaring she is 'allergic; to working out and is practically 'sedentary' apart from her daily commute. 'I don't like sweating. I don't like movement,' she told Gabby Logan's Mid Point podcast. 'I think you have to move a lot to see a difference and I'm too impatient. 'I want to go twice and feel like Elle Macpherson. The moment they say you'll see a difference in three months, I'm out.'.
Fans praised Claudia's natural brunette hair but the presenter has confirmed that the fringe is here to stay. When it comes to her diet, Claudia steers clear of caffeine and sugar but enjoys the occasional Filet-O-Fish after a long day at work. She is also an advocate for CBD which, she says, helps her de-stress and feel 'less panicky' as well as napping - with the BAFTA-winner a firm believer in the power of a good daytime snooze.
Throughout her A-levels and time studying History of Art at Cambridge University, Claudia said she would take the weight off by closing her eyes for 10 to 15 minutes. It is a trick she is passing down to her children, urging them to put down their phones in favour of a 'tiny nap' now and then. In March 2023, Claudia also shared her love of napping in a column for The Times. She penned: 'I'd like to discuss the importance of a daytime snooze.
