Sarh opted for the corner Billy unit, but instead of leaving it in its original colour, she got creative with a tin of paint and transformed the shelving so it was a rich, dark shade of blue which perfectly matched the walls behind it.
Available in a range of configurations and combinations, a Facebook user under the name Sarh Lm shared a series of photos to the public group, Show Your Home Library, which boasts more than 50K members all eager to share their bookshelves with the world.
On IKEA’s website, the retailer penned: “It is estimated that every five seconds, one Billy bookcase is sold somewhere in the world.
On social media, many people choose to share the ways in which they’ve styled their Billy bookcases, as well as other items like its famous Pax wardrobe systems.
