A man is in hospital after being attacked by two dogs at once - and one animal is still on the loose. Police were able to seize one of the dogs while the other managed to escape, with locals being warned to stay well clear of the animal. Shortly before 9am this morning, a quiet residential street was swarmed by armed police officers after cops received reports of "two dogs attacking a man".
He sustained injuries to his arms and hands and was rushed to hospital, where his condition is unknown. By 9.10am, cops had seized one of the hounds. A "thorough search" was conducted but they were unable to track down the second animal, which cops believe ran away from the area. Drones have been called in to help with the search.
The Staffordshire Police statement read: "We’re currently responding to reports of a dog attack in Stoke-on-Trent. Officers were called to Lennox Road at 8.57am this morning (January 27) to reports of two dogs attacking a man. "Armed officers went to the scene alongside paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service. A man was taken to hospital with injuries to his arms and hands that aren’t thought to be serious at this time.
"One of the dogs was seized by officers by 9.10am. A thorough area search has been carried out this morning using drones to search for the second dog, which we think ran away from the area. "The dog is believed to be a black bulldog type breed, although we can’t be certain at this point. We’re advising people not to approach the dog as a precaution but to report any sightings to us." Anyone with information should call 101 and quote incident 145 of January 27.
