Two men are due in court accused of carrying out a double stabbing in Manchester. Adam Benaicha, 21, is accused with Mohammed Ali Saim, 20, of carrying out what police have called a ‘targeted attack’. In common with other media, a previous version of this article repeated information supplied in an erroneous police press release which stated that an 11-year-old boy had been charged. A 16-year-old boy and 20-year-old man were seriously injured in a stabbing in Longsight, Manchester, on Tuesday.

Benaicha, of Waverton Road, and Saim, of Aston Avenue, Manchester,were both charged with GBH with intent and possession of an offensive weapon and remanded in custody. Emergency services were called to reports of a stabbing in the vicinity of Rushford Street and Purcell Street shortly before 7pm on Tuesday. Both of the injured remain in hospital in a stable condition. Police said the incident was believed to be a targeted attack.
