Bruno Mars fans are finally realising where they recognise the hit track 'APT.' from. The song, a collaboration with South Korean pop star ROSÉ, quickly became a sensation on Spotify since its release in October 2024, amassing an impressive 839million streams to date.

Despite its success, fans have been left with déjà vu after hearing the song's catchy pre-chorus, convinced it has taken inspiration from other popular hits. Reddit users on r/NameThatSong have been working hard to pinpoint the melody. One user queried: "What's the song from the melody of 'APT.' by Rosé and Bruno Mars?" They added: "The pre-chorus that says 'Don't you want me like I want you, baby? Don't you need me like I need you now? Sleep tomorrow, but tonight, go crazy. All you gotta do is just meet me at the' has a melody that reminds me of a song I cannot place.".

The producers previously revealed 'APT. ' took inspiration from 'Shake It Off', 'Hollaback Girl', and 'Hey Ya!', with a sample from 1980s smash hit, 'Hey Mickey'. But those aren't the only songs fans have been reminded of. The debut single of the music sensation sent fans into a frenzy as they matched its tune to hits like Lewis Capaldi's 'Forever', Bruce Springsteen's 'You'll Be Comin' Down' and even drew parallels with One Direction's 'Night Changes'.

Amid speculation, one user's comment caught attention when they spotted the similarity, prompting the remark: "LMAO actually yes this is the melody from the pre-chorus!!! Thank you.". While 'APT' is said to stand for 'apartment', the song also has a double meaning, according to ROSÉ. In a conversation with Vogue, she revealed: "'APT.' is the name of my single that just dropped and 'APT.' is actually a Korean drinking game that I love to play with my friends.".
