Brutal Piers Morgan voice note to Erling Haaland revealed after Arsenal's win over Man City

Piers Morgan has had the last laugh at Erling Haaland ’s expense after his ‘humble’ jibe with a brutal message. The Norwegian forward has been the poster boy for the hostilities stirred between Arsenal and Manchester City this season. Haaland was at the heart of a tense exchange earlier this season as he told Gunners boss Mikel Arteta to ‘stay humble’, before he then clashed with ex-City striker Gabriel Jesus.
Sunday’s clash at the Emirates Stadium saw a number of similar incidents. Arsenal star Gabriel Magalhaes celebrated wildly in Haaland’s face after their opener, with the striker then getting his own back with the equaliser. Arsenal eventually won 5-1, with Myles Lewis-Skelly copying Haaland’s trademark meditating celebration. And now Arsenal fan Morgan has rubbed salt into the wounds with a brutal voice note.
He said: “This is Piers Morgan for talkSPORT, I've just got back from the stadium after watching Arsenal demolish Manchester City 5-1. The last time we played City, Erling Haaland had a lot to say for himself at the end of the game. "Well, there are two things I'd like to say after today's game Erling. One is, I think you know who Mr Lewis-Skelly is now. And secondly, stay humble. The way you lot are playing, you're going to have a lot to be humble about.".
Former Sky Sports presenter Jeff Stelling gave an amusing take on Morgan’s voice note. Debating on talkSPORT, he said: "Ah, the most humble man on the planet, Piers Morgan, having his say.". Elsewhere, City boss Pep Guardiola has also given his verdict on Lewis-Skelly copying Haaland’s celebration. Speaking in his post-match press conference, he said: “That’s good… that’s good.”. Arsenal eventually sealed a dominant 5-1 win at the Emirates Stadium. The North London side enjoyed the perfect start through captain Martin Odegaard. Haaland equalised in the second half only for Thomas Partey to restore Arsenal’s advantage. Lewis-Skelly then scored before Kai Havertz and Ethan Nwaneri added shine to what was a dominant scoreline. Arsenal’s big win leaves them second in the Premier League table and six points behind Liverpool, albeit having played a game more. City in the meantime are nine points further behind.
Arteta’s side are back in action on Wednesday as they aim to turnaround their Carabao Cup deficit against Newcastle before a Premier League clash with struggling Leicester. Haaland and Man City will be aiming to get back on track this coming weekend against Leyton Orient in the FA Cup.
