Call the Midwife is back on BBC One with its third episode of the season, where Rosalind Clifford (portrayed by Natalie Quarry) faces a challenging delivery of a disabled baby. In another part of town, a gas explosion at an apartment block sends shockwaves through the community, with Joyce Highland (Renee Bailey) finding herself in the thick of it.
In the meantime, Sister Julienne (Jenny Agutter) leans on Trixie Aylward's (Helen George) managerial prowess during a meeting with Dr Threapwood (Timothy Harker) to discuss contract renewal with the council. Fans can expect to see familiar faces including Linda Bassett as Phyllis Crane and Judy Parfitt as Sister Monica Joan. Laura Main will be reprising her role as Shelagh Turner alongside Stephen McGann who plays her on-screen spouse, Patrick.
Cliff Parisi and Annabelle Apsion return as Fred and Violet Buckle, while Georgie Glen and Rebecca Gethings reprise their roles as Millicent Higgins and Sister Veronica. Here's what you need to know about the guest cast for episode three. Welsh actor Timothy Harker, who began his acting career in middle age, portrays Dr Threapwood.
