A performance at this year's Grammy Awards has everyone talking as they hail it the "best" in the event's storied history. The artist in question wowed the crowd, later bagging a Grammy themselves. It was a big night with Kendrick Lamar taking home no less than five awards, while The Beatles' previously unreleased track 'Now and Then' nabbed Best Rock Performance. Lamar edged out the competition, including 'Now and Then', for Best Record with his powerful diss track 'Not Like Us'. But forget the awards - performances were all the rage, with bombshell shows from Sabrina Carpenter and Benson Boone gracing the stage.

Yet, one electric showcase by Charli XCX, belting out 'Guess', left fans gobsmacked, calling it hands-down the "best Grammy performance in history." One mesmerised viewer took to social media exclaiming: "We just witnessed the best Grammy performance in history, Charli XCX you're the music industry.". Another chimed in, "She is such an icon." A third popped up writing: "Woah, I give a s**t about the Grammy's all of a sudden." Despite the rave reviews, not everyone's on board with Charli's edgy electronic vibe.

Skeptics had their say with one lamenting: "Maybe I'm getting old but I honestly can't understand getting excited about this frankly pedestrian piece of electro even if it were performed with any brio, which it isn't.". Meanwhile, another Grammys viewer felt that stars like Sabrina Carpenter, Beyoncé, and Doechii totally outshone her. A third viewer was unimpressed with the performance, calling it the "laziest performance" in the show's history, saying: "I'm sorry but there's nothing special about it, just a group of people moving their heads to the beat. Maybe the laziest performance in history.".

Following Benson Boone's performance of 'Beautiful Things', which had him likened to an iconic UK songwriter, Charli XCX took the stage. Boone's performance at the ceremony on February 2 went viral, with many reminded of Queen's legendary frontman. A social media post showcasing part of his act garnered mixed reactions, with some struggling to enjoy the song, while others drew parallels between Boone and Freddie Mercury. One user even asked: "Is that Freddie Mercury?" only to be met with responses like "In his dreams." Another wrote: "Delete this right now, I'm not even kidding.".
