Charlie Cooper's Am I Being Unreasonable? role has been revealed as he reunites with his famous sister on-screen. Am I Being Unreasonable? returns at 9.30pm on Wednesday (February 5) on BBC One with Daisy May Cooper back as star and writer of the dark comedy. Am I Being Unreasonable? was a smash hit for the BBC in 2022 with 3.2 million viewers and the show's first season won three RTS Awards and was nominated for three BAFTAs, including a BAFTA for best male comedy performance for Lenny Rush as Nic’s son Ollie.
With Selin Hizli, Dustin Demri-Burns and Lenny Rush among the stars returning to the BBC comedy, a number of guest actors will be joining series two. Charlie Cooper will have his first onscreen reunion with sister Daisy May Cooper since their BAFTA-winning This Country. Photos show he will play Dutch IT consultant, Jurgen, who is the lodger of Nic's cleaner, Viv. The mullet-wearing Charlie Cooper presents a number of tarot cards to Nic and appears to speak about her future.
Speaking about her brother's role, Daisy May said: "I made Charlie wear a mullet wig and glasses and speak with a Dutch accent. "The funny thing was, he kept dropping the accent because he wasn’t very good at it. We ended up having to write that into the script later on to explain Jurgen’s strange way of speaking.". Reviews say Charlie Cooper's cameo is the best guest appearance of the new series and adds something different to the award-winning comedy series.
Following This Country, Charlie Cooper has appeared in Stags, See How They Run, Stath Lets Flats and most recently, Charlie Cooper's Myth Country. Other high-profile guest stars include Brooklyn Nine-Nine actress Chelsea Peretti and Wonka actor Tom Davis. Other stars include Denise Black (Queer as Folk), Jamali Maddix (Never Mind the Buzzcocks) and British rapper and poet Kojey Radical, Helen Ann Bauer (Live at the Apollo), Marek Larwood (We Are Klang) and Karla Crome (Under the Dome).
A plot teaser from the BBC reads: "Series two will begin where series one left off, mid panic attack. Has Nic got away with murder? Quite possibly. "Has she raised her son Ollie to follow in her murky footsteps? Kicked out of the family home for brotherly love – loving the wrong brother – Nic is reduced to sharing a caravan with her not-so-trustworthy best friend, Jen. "Nic’s Husband Dan has taken up roller-blading to channel his mid-life crisis.
