William Gallas has criticised Chelsea’s decision to sanction a move for Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho. The Blues have begun negotiations with their Premier League rivals over a proposed swap deal that would see Christopher Nkunku move in the opposite direction.

Enzo Maresca is armed with numerous attacking options and on Friday insisted he was more than happy with his current crop of wingers which includes the likes of Pedro Neto, Noni Madueke and Jadon Sancho who is currently on loan from United. Nonetheless, reports claim Chelsea are now pushing for a deal before the January transfer window closes but Gallas has questioned the wisdom of bringing the Argentina international to Stamford Bridge.
‘Chelsea already have so many wingers and attacking midfielders, the signing of Alejandro Garnacho would be for business reasons only, with the idea that they could make a profit,’ he told Spin Genie.
