Cleaning tasks can be a burden, especially when there are a million other things to do. Keeping the house as tidy and clean as possible is a goal for many, but maintaining that sparkle can sometimes be challenging. When it comes to oven cleaning, there are various methods, such as using vinegar, aluminium foil, a roll of which retails around £1.99, and baking soda. However, some might not be effective as they seem, leaving us searching for better options. A TikTok content creator, under the username of @cleaning20243, shared an effective method for removing the grease from the oven doors - and it only takes two simple ingredients.
In the 22-second video, The Cleaning Ladies demonstrate the step-by-step process using aluminium foil and a cleaning paste called The Pink Stuff. They begin by applying a generous amount of the paste to the aluminium foil. After letting it sit for a few minutes, they scrub the oven door. After a few minutes, they wipe it clean with a wet cloth. The results? Completely clear glass. The video has been viewed more than 3.8 million times, and attracted 74,700 likes, with thousands of comments from surprised users. Many also shared different tips and tricks, hoping to help others.
One user commented: “Not me watching this after spending a good 30 mins scrubbing the hands off myself to get it clean.” Another said: “Wish I saw this five hours earlier before I cleaned my oven. Why does my fyp do this to me. Will definitely be trying this next time.”.
One user suggested: “I use baking soda, cut a fresh lemon in half, use it as a sponge basically works like magic,” with another suggesting: “I used a dishwasher tablets the other day and it worked! Took the plastic off and did circular motion.” However, some users expressed concern that the aluminium foil could scratch the glass, after finding out that the paste is abrasive. However, it’s recommended to scrub the foil slightly to avoid it from happening.
