In the UK, many households grapple with the issue of hard water, characterised by tap water laden with minerals such as calcium and magnesium. This is a result of the UK's geological makeup, predominantly composed of sedimentary rocks like chalk and limestone.

While these minerals in tap water pose no health risks, they can lead to unsightly calcium deposits around the house, causing limescale build-up on appliances and shower glass. To tackle this, cleaning expert and janitor Brandon shared his "favourite DIY mixture" for removing limescale and soap scum from shower glass.

On his YouTube channel 'Clean That Up', Brandon revealed that his go-to DIY concoction comprises one cup of white vinegar, one cup of water and a teaspoon of dish soap. In his video, he sprays the shower glass with the cleaning mix, stressing the need to let it sit on the glass.

For the white vinegar and dish soap solution to effectively combat hard water accumulation, it requires about "five to 10 minutes" to settle on the shower glass. Following this, the cleaning expert uses a "non-scratch sponge" to scrub off the hard water deposits.

After the scrubbing session, the shower glass is rinsed with water and dried using a microfibre cloth for a "streak-free" finish. Besides this DIY method, he also endorses the use of manufacturer cleaners for maintaining clean shower glass, reports the Express.
