Cleaning fans transform grey and 'dingy' towels to bright white with 65p hero

If you've got white towels gracing your bathroom, you'll be familiar with how they can lose their bright whiteness over time, turning a drab grey despite regular washing. But fear not, there's no need to splash out on new towels just yet - there's a simple and cost-effective trick to bring back the dazzling white to your towels without emptying your wallet. A cleaning guru has revealed that all it takes to rejuvenate your white towels is a common kitchen ingredient likely already in your cupboard. And if not, it's a steal at just 65p from your local supermarket.
Deyan Dimitrov, CEO of Laundryheap, recommends using half a cup of baking soda - also known as bicarbonate of soda - in your wash along with your usual detergent to restore your towels' lost lustre. You can snag baking soda for a mere 65p at stores like Asda and Tesco, and it's not only a miracle worker for laundry but also a staple for various household cleaning tasks and essential for baking.
Deyan shared: "Baking soda is like a superhero when it comes to tackling tough laundry challenges. Just add half a cup of baking soda along with your regular detergent when washing your towels. It works wonders in freshening them up, removing stains, and neutralising any unwanted smells.
"It is not only great for freshening up your towels; it also helps brighten white fabrics. If you have dingy or yellowed towels, adding baking soda to your wash cycle can help restore their whiteness. Just remember to follow the care instructions on your coloured towels, as baking soda may have a slight bleaching effect.".
