The age-old laundry conundrum of keeping white socks dazzling has been a hot topic on social media. Cleaning enthusiasts have been sharing their top tips for restoring the sparkle to "very dirty" white socks. In the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips and Tricks Facebook group, Leanne Willis sought advice: "What's the best white stain remover for very dirty white socks? " The response was overwhelming, with many recommending household names like Vanish and Napisan, while a strong contingent vouched for the effectiveness of soda crystals.

Claire Lowe revealed her method: "Soak overnight with soda crystals, then wash as normal. I do all my whites like this and everyone always comments how white they are." Lucy Harris also suggested pre-washing with soda crystals in the sink to lift dirt before a regular wash. Hazel Kirk added her voice, saying: "Soaked them in a bowl of cold water to loosen the dirt and then washed with soda crystals.".

Donna Thornley proposed a combination approach: "Pink stuff Oxi in the wash or soak them in soda crystals and then wash." Heidi Smith endorsed soda crystals as the ultimate solution, stating: "Soda crystals. I've tried everything and soda crystals are the only thing that has worked to get my whites pure white again.", reports the Express.

Debbie Simmonds has a straightforward tip: "Soda crystals and on a temperature. I do mine on a 90 and they come up a treat." For lacklustre socks, soda crystals might just be the secret; they may not bleach fabrics, but they are excellent for banishing laundry stains.
