Hannah Berner broke her silence on the shocking joke she made about Blake Lively during a Netflix special. The comedian dropped the C-word in a joke about the actress, which was clearly alluding to the ridicule the Gossip Girl star faced this past year.
Her poorly-timed joke was featured on Netflix's comedy special, Torching 2024: A Roast of the Year, which was released Friday amid the aftermath of Lively's legal battle with co-star Justin Baldoni. Lively accused her It Ends With Us co-star of sexually harassing her throughout the making of the movie, and then engineering a smear campaign against her.
Berner host a widely popular podcast called The Giggly Squad together with fellow Bravo Summer House alum Paige DeSorbo. She is breaking into comedy and landed her first Netflix special this summer. While on stage, Berner told the crowd: 'The word c**t was trending this year,' before adding, 'I don't think Blake Lively was that bad.' The joke garnered laughter from the crowd.
Berner took to her Instagram Stories on Friday to shed light on the timeline, adding she completely stood behind Lively. 'My joke in the Netflix special was filmed before news of the lawsuit,' the Summer House alum said. 'To be 100 percent clear, I support Blake xoxo,' she added.
