Commuters face huge delays after popular London train route closed

Both the London Underground and Overground are part suspended due to a faulty train this afternoon. No District line Tube trains are running between Richmond and Turnham Green. The Mildmay overground line is also suspended between South Acton and Richmond due to the faulty train at Richmond.
Meanwhile the Central line is experiencing minor delays due to train cancellations and a signal failure, and the Piccadilly line remains part closed, with severe delays, due to damage from leaf fall. Commuters continue to face disruption on London Northwestern Railway service between Tring and London Euston services.
They were suspended after a points failure on Sunday, and they will remain disrupted until the end of Wednesday. The M1 is reopened and operating normally after it was closed near Watford yesterday after a man’s body was found in the undergrowth. Thanks for joining us today. We will be back tomorrow at 6am.
There are currently minor delays on the Northern line between Camden Town and Kennington southbound via Bank. This is due to an earlier signal failure and services are now starting to resume as normal. Around 100 low traffic neighbourhoods (LTNs) have been introduced across London in a bid to reduce vehicle traffic in favour of walking and cycling.
But some residents living in these areas complain about an increase in congestion and travel times. Campaigners from 15 community groups have grouped together to voice their opposition in a letter to Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander. They said: ‘Local authorities often impose LTNs without local community support — in many cases after public consultations showing that two thirds or more wanted them removed. This has eroded trust in local government.
