Conor McGregor appears to soften stance on UFC rival Islam Makhachev

Conor McGregor has seemingly broken from his character after reacting positively to UFC champion Islam Makhachev's farm. Over the years, 'The Notorious' has traded barbs with Khabib Nurmagomedov and several members of his team, including Makhachev, on social media. McGregor and Nurmagomedov famously went toe-to-toe back in 2018 - with the Russian going on to secure a dominant victory.
Since then, the Irishman has continued to speak ill of his former foe. As for Nurmagomedov, the Russian star retired in 2020 and has passed the mantle over to Makhachev - who secured lightweight gold back in 2022 after defeating Charles Oliveira. He has gone on to defeat Alexander Volkanovski twice and McGregor's former rival, Dustin Poirier.
The feud with McGregor and Khabib's Dagestani cohorts remains fairly active even to this day. However, many fans were left stunned after the Irishman appeared to soften his stance on Makhachev. The Russian star is one of the most feared athletes in the promotion, but in his free time, he likes to kick his feet up and relax.
The 33-year-old - who grew up in the remote village of Burshi in his native Dagestan - has built a sensational one-thousand-animal-strong farm where he owns several sheep and horses. Makhachev gave a tour of the farm on the official 'Countdown' episode for UFC 311 - where he defends his title against Arman Tsarukyan. The Russian told the cameras that having a farm like this had always been a dream of his.
In a video uploaded to Home of Fight's social media pages, the clip shows the lightweight champion talking about his farm. Many have been left shocked after finding out that McGregor was one of the individuals who liked the post. As of right now, it remains unclear if it was a mistake, his account was account, or he simply quite likes the life his rival leads.
