Coronation Street brings the drama next week, as confirmed in my new pictures, with the return of a major star plus the aftermath of Mason’s (Luca Toolan) death and an unexpected diagnosis. With Carla Connor (Alison King) still in hospital with sepsis, Bobby Crawford (Jack Carroll) takes matters into his own hands, paying jailed dad Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis) a visit behind bars.
Rob claims he’s found religion and, hearing of Carla’s plight, he offers to donate his kidney if his sister is a match for him. The prison visit takes an unexpected turn, however, when Matty Ratcliffe takes Bobby hostage and, as word gets back to the Street about what has unfolded in jail, Carla comes to realise that Bobby has been in touch with Rob.
Determined to get answers, she goes to see Rob later in the week, hoping to find out if there is any truth to his claims that he’s a changed man. Rob urges her to believe that he’s turned over and a new leaf and he reiterates that he’d be only too happy to give her one of his kidneys.

We’ll just have to wait and see. Elsewhere, Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne) receives an update on the investigation into Mason’s death, with Sean (Anthony Cotton) telling him that Matty has been arrested after CCTV footage caught him disposing of the knife.
