There’s a deadly and explosive week to come in Coronation Street as a fire rages through the Platt house, leaving lives on the line. And, following that, accusations are flying and questions need answered. In fact, danger strikes even before the blaze, with a scary showdown between Abi Webster (Sally Carman) and Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) leading to the latter being left in a bad way.
But it’s not just Toyah who is in serious peril, with the fire leading to an explosion while Max Turner (played by departing Paddy Bever) caught right in the blast. In the aftermath, David (Jack P Shepherd) comes under suspicion instantly given his money issues.
However, when matches are found on a hungover Leanne (Jane Danson), the situation takes an unexpected turn…. As David makes a call to Andy to arrange a time for their plan, Nick reminds him that it’s Sarah’s birthday party, unaware that Logan is listening in.
Sarah tells Nick she’s worried Harvey will get wind of all of the Platts in the one place and will be a sitting target. Going ahead with his plan, David lies to Sarah that he’s at a client’s house and won’t be attending her party. After finding Harry in the bistro office watching Hope’s live stream of a seance from No.8 with Ruby, Lily and Sam, Toyah bursts in and orders the kids out.
