Coronation Street star confirms ‘emotional’ exit for Eileen as she leaves after 25 years

With her time on the cobbles coming to an end soon, she has already begun filming her final episodes and viewers are in for a treat. ‘We started filming my exit storyline, lovely Katy Cavanagh has come back, who plays Julie [Carp] and we’ve literally started filming that,’ she explained, while appearing on Loose Women as a panelist.
Although, Sue is happy with her decision, she still predicts finding the last days difficult: ‘It’s going to be emotional, it’s going to be hard.’. However, the 61-year-old actor plans to still retain a connection to the ITV soap, due to the relationships she’s formed over the years.
‘I’ve got a lot of friends there that I will still have a connection to it,’ she shared. ‘You know, my husband [Brian Owen] is the lighting guy on it so I don’t feel I’m going too far away from it but, it will be very emotional. I just know in my gut that it is the right thing to do and I’m going with that.’.
Although the news may be shocking to fans Sue has actually been planning the move for years. Fellow panellist Charlene White revealed that Sue shared her plans in a conversation when they were both competing on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! but those discussions didn’t make it into the highlights show.
